There is a biting cold floating through the air, landing on her skin with unheard thuds. She is all tangled sheets and trickling beads of sweat, uneven breaths and a hummingbird quick heartbeat as she lies by him, her chest moving up and down with exhilarated sighs.
It was a consequence of his honeydew voice and amorous glances, his deliberately accidental touches and the piercing gaze of his grey eyes. It was light kisses that never touched her lips and the touch of his fingertips on her bare, silken skin.
She looks at the ice faced boy, his eyes refusing to meet hers. Wide-eyed hope guides her to his lips, but she is stopped, the unfortunate game still unraveling as the rough skin on the tip of his finger is pressed to her silent, soft mouth, as his coarse voice speaks words that leave a devastation in her soul:
